Resolute Marine Energy Inc. (RME) is developing wave energy converters (WEC) that generate clean energy from ocean waves. Its near-term goal is to complete development and commercialization of a wave-driven seawater desalination system that operates completely “off-grid” and fills a huge gap in the market for small and medium sized seawater desalination systems. RME’s business model is to target off-grid coastal communities suffering from water scarcity, initially focusing on South Africa. The company is seeking funding to develop a pre-commercial pilot plant for its first South African customer.
Vladimir Romachko, Executive Director, Sustainable Transportation Solutions

He has previously worked in security for a major Australian bank and has worked in a variety of sales positions in the financial sector. He has studied at the University of New South Wales and at the Russian High Military Command College. In 2006, Vladimir identified the problem of bulk commodity transportation and he has since dedicated himself to commercialising the STS technology.
Sustainable Transportation Solutions Plc (STS) was established and incorporated in the UK in 2011. The company has registered offices in Australia and Belarus. STS is commercialising an innovative, proprietary (patents pending) railway system for the transportation of bulk commodities (coal, iron ore) from mine to port or directly onto a ship. The system will deliver 40 – 50% reduction in CAPEX & OPEX over current preferred method - conventional heavy haul rail. The STS system will have similar strength and capacity to conventional rail, but will be lighter, less environmentally disruptive and lower cost than both rail and road. STS intends to provide its rail infrastructure on a build, own, operate model. Its ‘open access’ tracks will be utilised by multiple small and mid-tier mining companies which do not have the resource base or CAPEX to finance their own lines but which need to achieve the haulage capacities only rail can offer to ‘unlock’ their resources.
